Arrée Voce is the encounter of different types of singing from Brittany and elsewhere. This festival showcases a wealth and diversity of repertoires, whether monophonic or polyphonic, lively or melancholic.
The Arrée Voce Festival is devoted to vocal music from Brittany and elsewhere. Arrée Voce showcases different types of singing from the oral tradition, highlighting the wealth and diversity of repertoires, whether monophonic or polyphonic, lively or melancholic. Examples include Gwerzioù, Corsican polyphonic songs, Italian female singers, Georgian choirs, etc. Each has their own unique identity. However, despite the different singing techniques associated with the region of origin (tralaléro, chant diphonique, kan ha diskan, etc.), all express universal themes.
Created as a means of showcasing the wealth of songs from the various folk traditions, the Arrée Voce Festival allows the encounter of unique and authentic vocal expressions. Every evening, a Breton group opens the concert. They are followed on stage by another group or ensemble from another part of Europe, with a very different vocal tradition. Before the evening concerts, don’t miss the master-classes, meetings with the artists and the different children’s events on offer.
