Circa 1570, the lords of Kerjean embarked on a large-scale construction project. They built, on the site of the former manor, a Renaissance-style castle which was larger and more beautiful than all the other stately houses of the region. This refined edifice, protected behind its impressive ramparts, has been subjected to all manner of indignities over the course of its long history. The Les Riches Heures de Kerjean, which translates as The Rich Hours of Kerjean allows visitors to explore the past and the architecture of the château thanks to a range of innovative multimedia devices: films, an animated scale model and even a glass explorer plunge visitors back to Renaissance times for a more than memorable experience!
Le Château de Kerjean is owned by the State.
