Some thirty photographs by Gérard Uféras depict weddings: from the first meeting to the wedding day, from the preparations to the celebrations, including both civil and religious ceremonies. These moments, captured by the photographer’s lens, subtly translate the joy and jubilation, as well as the solemnity or gravity of the occasion. The photographs are accompanied by a short text written by the newlyweds, detailing their meeting, their expectations, and their view of marriage, thus revealing a portrait of humanity in its diversity, but with a shared aspiration: to construct something together, beyond differences. The exhibition continues in Daoulas. Displayed in the streets of the town or framed in doorways, these images transform residents’ view of their town.
